'All Heart No Brains' is the enchanting new single by the London based pianist Kit Richardson and her band. The song is an ode to empathy, and a lamentation on hippy idealism. It was co-produced by Dan Cox (Lianne La Havas, Tom Odell), who along with Kit, spent hours deliberating over kick drums, and piecing together the multi-faceted pop song, for which Kit hand wrote the pitched percussion MIDI lines in Logic.
Kit Richardson was born in the midlands, and taught herself to play piano and strings at an early age (she can also play trombone, but it is yet to make an appearance!). Her biggest influences are Peter Gabriel and Neil Finn, although she spends most of her time listening to alt rap oddities from the early 2000s and old Planet Mu records.
'All Heart No Brains' is a soup of twinkling glockenspiels and Moog warmth, with an urgent undertone of frustrated teenage naivety. Gracious and professional, catch Kit live to experience her complex and effecting journey that subtlety juts in and out and underneath ‘alternative’ and ‘pop’.
